In the summer months of 2002, Elsam constructed the world's largest offshore wind farm at Horns Rev - 80 2 MW turbines placed in the North Sea.
Elsam is the largest, independent owner of wind turbines in Denmark, and operates a large number of onshore and offshore turbines.

The project at Kentish Flats was initially developed by GREP, a fully-owned subsidiary of NEG Micon A/S. But in the year 2004 the merger of Vestas and NEG Micon became a reality. The company is now operating under the name Vestas.
All the turbines at Kentish Flats will be delivered by Vestas.
